Noro Books : Noro Love

There are so many Noro lovers out there in the knitting world and I’ve found, when I show my garments to people who don’t knit (or those that claim they don’t, sometimes they let slip that they have and they enjoyed it!) they love Noro Yarns too.

I have so much admiration for everyone in Noro’s magical ‘headquarters’ because of the way they make the yarns, how they choose the shades and how they put colours together. It’s truly amazing. The beauty of the Noro Yarns is that they are totally exceptional. Each yarn is hand dyed and hand made to make shades that are unsurpassable.

This is why I love Noro Yarns, it’s doesn’t matter how many knitters use the same shade, each garment is slightly different and always unique.

This uniqueness is mirrored in every body. Every body is slightly different in size. In all my Noro books I include sizes from extra small to extra large. I believe that garments can look good on you whatever your size. I always include these larger sizes but realise I never show the garments on a model over (UK) size 10. So for this shoot I thought I would choose a model that wasn’t a size 10 and for most of the garments beautiful Jenna is only wearing the small sized garment.

As always in my collection of hand knits I have continued with the same philosophy I apply for all my books, this is to create patterns with no complicated abbreviations or techniques, just straight forward simple patterns.

This philosophy is particularly perfect for Noro Yarns as the simple garments let the beautiful colours shine through.

For the names of the garments I looked at names that mean love. My research was from the internet and it is advisable to take everything you find on the internet with a pinch of salt! So I’ve used a lot of poetic licence with the names and am aware that some of the names will have additional  meanings or origins but I hope it is fun to read about them.

I enjoy designing for Noro lovers as well as for those who have yet to discover the love of Noro yarns!
