The perfect gift... 2010-07-26

This season I have had 97 garments to get knitted up. I've just added that up now and I can't believe it's that much. I've re-calculated several times, but it is 8 items in 7 books, 20 items in another book  and 21 items in the final book. That's 97. Wow??! It's lucky I love knitting!

So anyway some of my knitters don't have knitting for a couple of  weeks as I've completed 4 of the books and I have loads of odd balls. I always want to knit up some of my patterns, but as I'm sure you can imagine garments to knit for myself are at the very bottom of my list  of things I have to knit!

Several of my friends and family are having babies and I feel a blanket is a perfect gift. I love my Love Hearts blanket for the girl from Mirasol Book 6. This is knitted in Tupa but I only have enough yarn left for one blanket so I chose some colours in Nuna and Miski to make the others. The Nuna one will be smaller and the Miski one will be bigger than stated in the book but will make a completely individual blanket. Just like the newborn!
