I'm knitting 24/7
02/12/2009

I'm so sorry for the lack of updates on my website.

I have been, and still am, swatching, knitting, writing patterns, sewing up garments, picking up necklines, checking patterns, organising photo shoots which includes choosing models, styling, ironing everything, packing everything, driving to locations, working with the photographer to make sure everything looks good, sending off the patterns to the layout designer, working with her to make sure the books look amazing....but I'm not complaining I'm sharing!
This is why I haven't managed to say 'Hello' for a while on my website...or to *anyone* I'm sure my family don't remember what I look like!

I love designing and I so hope all my hard work will result in you all loving the exciting new books I'm producing......

I'm welcoming in the 21st century...I hope!
15/04/2009

I've just upgraded my computer. I have been working on a simple pc for the last few years. It was a home edition as I brought it before I became self employed so it has been slowly turning it's clogs and cranking along for a while.
Hopefully all the technical problems I've been having have now been solved...?????
However while I change over from one computer to another I might lose a few emails and information. I've a friend who can help me get it back but this might take a few weeks.
If you have emailed me in the last week or so and I haven't replied please re-send your email, it might have been lost in the cyberspace between computers?!

My Books
24/03/2009

I've been receiving a few emails from lovely knitters who have been asking me if they can buy my books from me or where they can buy them.
I don't sell them myself and I realised that I don't have anything on my website to let you know where you can purchase them.
So here goes!
In the US all my books (except obviously the ones that are discontinued!) are available through the distributor Knitting Fever, www.knittingfever.com if you visit their website there is a store locator to show your nearest stockist or internet stockist.
(I must put 'Improve my computer skills' on my ever growing list of things to do, because if I knew how to do it I'll be able to link the websites!?!)
In Canada, the majority of my books (Mirasol, Noro, Queensland) are available through the distributors Diamond Yarn, www.diamondyarn.com and again there is a store locator on their website.
In the UK, the distributors Designer Yarns Ltd www.designeryarns.uk.com distribute my Noro and Mirasol books only.
And in Germany the same two brands are distributed through the German Designer Yarns www.designeryarns.de
There are a few more, perhaps I shall make a seperate page!

My only book this season!
13/02/2009

For the Spring season this year I only worked on one book (usually I do 3 a season)
This is because after several years of working on 3 books per season, and in the early years working full time as well, I thought it would be lovely to relax and take it easy with just the one book.......??
I did have a couple of days off over the Christmas break, but before it felt just as busy as normal. Why?
Because for some reason I thought I (that is just me, myself and I) would be able to sew up, finish collars, knit edgings, change necklines on 30 items in the couple of weeks before photography, oh as well as organise the location, models and styling for the photography???
It was in the small hours of those days before the photoshoot that I became so jealous of larger organisations with teams of people.
However it was all worth it as I feel the book as come together very well. I hope you agree!
