Model spotting with Erin
23/07/2008
Last night I had my usual Tuesday night treat of sitting down with my knitting to watch Gordon Ramsay on the f word, which is on Channel 4 at the moment. I've recently brought his book and was excited to see him prepare some of the meals I have. He also fried a Dover sole exactly the same way as my Granny did, she lived in Cornwall so we always had the freshest fish and she cooked it perfectly, it will always be one of my favourite meals. Anyway, I am rambling! I was *so* excited when he went to meet Erin O'Connor, the supermodel who has her own model agency. Gordon wanted to teach one of the models how to cook fresh and healthy meals. The model he worked with was Georgina Toms. My model from Pure Noro! So excited! Erin and me pick the best models! I remember Georgina being a lovely girl, she was very friendly and very keen to get it right. She was a natural and deserves all her success.

Noro Family
15/07/2008
This is my first Noro book to include men's and children's designs as well as women's designs. It was fun designing for the babies as most of the garments just take a ball or two so I managed to knit a couple up myself, like the hat and one of the cardigans, as well as the little bootees. Because they only take a ball or two it makes the perfect unique gift for a loved one, or they are great for beginners. The other thing about the Noro yarns is that knitting them becomes addictive because you want to know what colour is coming next! Or is that just me??

Men's Book
03/06/2008
I have just completed phototgraphy on my first men's book. I am so excited about this. I have been asking, begging, pleading to do a men's book for what seems like years and *years*. There are some lovely patterns out there already but I feel there needs to be more men's garments in the knitting world. I am so happy that I have had this chance to design some simple and straight forward patterns for the boys! (and men of course) As always the patterns are simple, so great for the experienced knitter who just wants a project that they can sit and knit without looking at the pattern too much, but also perfect for the beginner....maybe even for the male knitter who wants to start knitting?

Sleepless nights
22/05/2008
I don't know whether I should admit to this, but last night I couldn't sleep, mainly due to thinking about organising location and models and wondering if the garments would be knitted in time etc., etc., then I started thinking about designs and the next book I've been commissioned to do. I lay there thinking Miski from the Mirasol Collection would be the perfect choice, but that day I had just received a garment in the new yarn for Mirasol and I thought that would be perfect too. I realised a few minutes later that I wasn't getting to sleep because I was trying to decide which yarn I like more....????

Noro Joy Update
19/05/2008
As I mentioned last week I am slowly updating my website and today we have updated Noro Joy with some better pictures. Noro Joy is only available in the US because the yarns used include Taiyo and Matsuri which are only available in North America. I designed the book with a typical British summer in mind, the ones where you think it is going to be a lovely warm day but it is actually a little chilly. These cardigans, tops and jumpers are perfect for those days. They are light to carry and keep a body's temperature just right!
